HELLO, AND WELCOME TO THE CULTURE BUZZ
John Busbee is a creative project developer. His multi-disciplinary strategies incorporate writing, performance arts, media production, development, playwriting, and cultural economic development to apply his skills and experience in successfully achieving creative goals.
A published writer, his monthly columns in Cityview Magazine (“Center Stage”) and Little Village Magazine (“Contact Buzz”) plus regular contributions to Iowa History Journal give him statewide name recognition. His work in media as location manager, producer, and field producer includes such major projects as The Crazies (2010), The Experiment (2010), Play by Play (2016-2017, TV series), and Omnivore (2022, docu-series). He secured $250,000 in underwriting for the Littleton Brothers Memorial Monument in Louisa County IA honoring the six brothers whose lives were lost in the Civil War. He wrote and produced a trilogy of plays, the Bonds of War series, in Greenfield IA based on news and editorials from the Adair County Free Press newspaper, a project supported by the Lear Family Foundation and Humanities Iowa.
With a dedicated attention catalytic interaction with individuals, groups, organizations, and communities, Busbee shares his creative skills in media production, theatre (from scriptwriting to performing to directing), writing (published writer, produced playwright, short story, poetry, historical literature), and other creatively connective elements to selectively and innovatively infuse projects in which he is engaged with exceptional collaborative energy.
